10 days To Pamir highway by motorbikes

Day 1

Arriving day to Bishkek. Manas International Airport. Resting time at hotel. Take the bikes. Excursion.

 

Day 2

Long way to Issyk Kul. Lunch on the way. Accommodation in yurt lodge Bel Zhan. After lunch horse riding.

 

Day 3

Visit Kara Kol city. Way to Jety Oguz Gorge. Accommodation in guest house. A picturesque mountain valley in Kyrgyzstan, 28 km West from the city of Karakol along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. The name of Jety-Oguz (translated from Kyrgyz - "seven bulls") received from the chain of weathered red rocks resembling lying on the ground, and the bulls are the hallmark of the gorge. Local attraction - a rock "Broken Heart", which is always photographed in front of the lovers.

 

Day 4

Way to Son Kul, Naryn region. It is the second largest lake after Issyk Kul Lake, and the largest fresh water lake in Kyrgyzstan. It is surrounded by a broad summer pasture and then mountains. There are no facilities on the lake, but local herders will provide supplies and rent yurts. Accommodation in local family’s yurts.

 

Day 5

Way to Jalal Abad city is the administrative and economic centre of Jalal-Abad Region in southwestern Kyrgyzstan. Jalal-Abad is known for its mineral springs in its surroundings. Accommodation in hotel.

 

Day 6

Way to Osh city. Accommodation in hotel. Osh is the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located in the Fergana Valley in the south of the country and often referred to as the "capital of the south". It is the oldest city in the country (estimated to be more than 3000 years old). Mount Sulaiman, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located in the western part of the city and has long been a place of Muslim pilgrimage. Is the starting point of the Osh-Khorugh road, the main Pamirs highway.

 

Day 7

Sary – Tash. In the east of Alay valley, at the altitude of 3150 m above sea level there is the village Sary-Tash. The word Sary Tash translating “yellow stone”. The population of it is just over 1.5 thousand people. Sary-Tash is located close to the border with China and Tajikistan. Through this settlement runs an important automobile road the Pamir Highway, which connects the city of Osh with the cities Khorog and Dushanbe in Tajikistan. To the north of Sary-Tash is Taldyk Pass (3615 m), to the south is Kyzyl-Art Pass (4250 m).

 

Day 8

Entering to Tajikistan. Murghab. Murghab is the capital of Murghob District in the Pamir Mountains of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Tajikistan. With a population of 4,000, Murghab is about the only significant town the eastern half of Gorno-Badakhshan. It is the highest town in Tajikistan (and of the former Soviet Union) at 3,650 m above sea level. It located at the junction of the Murghab River and the Pamir Highway.

 

Day 9

Khorog is the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan. It is also the capital of the Shughnon District of Gorno-Badakhshan. It has a population of 28,000 (2000 census). Khorugh is 2,200 metres (7,200 ft) above sea level in the Pamir Mountains (ancient Mount Imeon) at the confluence of the Ghund and Panj rivers. The city is bounded to the south (Nivodak) and to the north (Tem) by the deltas of the Shakhdara and Gunt, respectively.

Day 11

Dushanbe Dushanbe is the capital and largest city of Tajikistan. Dushanbe means Monday in the Persian language. It was so named because it grew from a village that originally had a popular market on Mondays. Until 1929, the city was known in Russian as Dushanbe, and from 1929 to 1961 as Stalinabad.

 

Day 12

Khujand , formerly Khodjend or Khodzhent until 1936 and Leninabad until 1991, is the second-largest city of Tajikistan and the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan, now called Sughd. Khujand is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, dating back about 2,500 years. It is situated on the Syr Darya at the mouth of the Fergana Valley and was a major city along the ancient Silk Road.

 

Day 13

Back to Osh.

 

Day 14

Leaving to home.
